Free SSL certificate checker

Free SSL Certificate Checker

Check a website's SSL certificate, expiration date, issuer, hostname match, TLS version and days remaining — no signup required.

Privacy. The domain is checked in real time and is not stored. Only anonymous aggregate usage counters are retained.

Check when an SSL certificate expires

SSL Checker connects to the website on the standard HTTPS port and verifies the certificate presented for that hostname. For a valid certificate it shows the issuer, subject, validity period, days remaining and negotiated TLS version.

What does hostname match mean?

A certificate must be valid for the hostname you are visiting. A certificate can be current and issued by a trusted authority but still be wrong for a particular domain. A hostname mismatch causes browsers to reject the secure connection.

When should an SSL certificate be renewed?

Renewal should happen before expiration. Notinexa marks certificates with 30 days or less remaining as expiring soon so there is time to investigate an automated renewal failure before visitors encounter certificate warnings.

What this checker does not grade

This tool checks the certificate and TLS connection. It does not invent an A–F security score, perform a complete cipher-suite audit or replace a dedicated TLS vulnerability assessment.
