Domain Age Checker
Check when a domain was registered, how old it is and the registration details published by its registry through RDAP — no signup required.
When was a domain registered?
The domain registration date is the creation date published by the domain's registry. Notinexa queries the appropriate RDAP service and shows that date when the registry provides it. If RDAP does not report a creation date, the checker says it is unavailable rather than estimating when the domain was registered.
How old is a domain?
Domain age is the time elapsed since the available registration date. This checker calculates that period in years, months and days from the date reported through RDAP. It does not infer an age from search results, web archives, certificate dates or the first time a website was crawled.
Domain registration date vs website age
A domain may be registered before a website launches, remain unused, change owners or host different websites over time. Its registration date therefore does not establish the age of the current website, its content or the length of time its present owner has controlled it.
What information does the checker return?
The lookup uses RDAP, the Registration Data Access Protocol. Notinexa discovers the appropriate RDAP service for the domain extension and reads the registry response in real time. When available, the result includes the registration date, calculated domain age, expiration date, last changed date, registrar or registration provider, domain statuses and nameservers. No commercial domain-data API is used.
Registries and domain extensions do not all expose the same fields. A missing creation date does not necessarily mean the domain is new; it means the response did not contain enough information to calculate its age reliably.
Domain age FAQ
How can I check the age of a domain?
Enter a domain or website URL above. The checker reduces it to the registrable domain, requests its RDAP record and calculates the age from the reported registration date when one is available.
When was a domain name registered?
Look for the Registered date in the result. That is the creation or registration date supplied by the registry through RDAP, not an estimate made by Notinexa.
What does domain age mean?
Domain age means the elapsed time since a domain's available registration date. It describes the domain record rather than the history of every website that may have used the name.
Is domain age the same as website age?
No. A domain can exist without a website, and its content, ownership and purpose can change. The current website may be much newer than the domain.
Does domain age affect SEO?
Domain age alone should not be treated as a direct ranking advantage. Useful content, relevant links, technical accessibility, quality and reputation provide far more meaningful evidence than an old registration date by itself.
